The Zero balance lie

I made a purchase through the Shop Toshiba site March of 2003 and was supposed to recieve 180 days interest free. Well I only recieved one bill throughout that period and on for one year. I moved back in September and as I always do, I call the companies that I have obligations to so they know where to send my bills.

Well I went ahead and called the number on my Toshiba cards and talked to a HRS employee. He had said that I had no balance on the card so I didn't follow up on it any longer. Well in February I got a forwarded bill from my previous address and it gave me a minimum payment. Well after research I seen that I did still owe money, I was kind of confused due to my deployment to Iraq during the April-August timeframe, and was like oh well I'll pay it.

Well they charged me a late fee even though I didn't even recieve the bill until after the pay by date and then charged me back interest charges from the months they failed to send me a bill. I tried to confront them on it but I never could even get someone I needed to talk to. They always put me on hold forever and never answer my emails.

All I wanted to know is why did they charge me all this backed interest when its their fault, I even checked the previous statements online and they didn't show any statements from May03-Jan04. I made sure to take screenshots of that one. Anyways thats my horror story from those @$$holes.
