Fixed rate loan was actually a credit card

Postby AdsBot [Google] » Mon Jun 21, 2004 12:36 pm

I received a call from Household Retail Services concerning an application I completed. I was told the application was for a fixed rate 3.9% "loan," when in fact the application was for a credit card through HRS.

The 3.9% rate for the credit card is fixed until 1 January 2003. I told HRS I did not want a creditcard and that I was under the impression that that I had applied for a 3.9% fixed rate loan. At this point our conversation ended.

A few hours later, I received a call from a local motorcycle dealer (Kodiak Yamaha) that my loan/creditcard application had been "declined." This gave the impression to the Yamaha dealer that my credit may be questionable.

I can assure, my credit is impeccable. Several calls to HRS have gone unanswered. I would like to find out if my HRS has any input to my credit, and if "declined" creditcard was entered into my credit history.
