From R.T. in Oklahoma
I assumed a mortgage thru a divorce that had initially been originated in 02/04/2000. The terms: 120 month mortgage having a note rate of 13.95%. I have recently made the last of all 120 payments.
HSBC is NOW asserting this is a simple interest loan though NO ONE at HSBC has been able to provide ANY documentation bearing my signature that I originated a simple interest loan.
This is a violation of Truth In Lending, Reg Z and Predatory Lending laws.
I am pursing all avenues to bring this transaction to resolution. I do NOT owe the ADDITIONAL $12,000 HSBC is attempting to bilk from me.
