HSBC History in Buffalo New York

Buffalo was the headquarters of Marine Midland Bank now HSBC Bank USA for about 150 years before HSBC moved the legal headquarters, first to Delaware and now to northern Virginia. It still employs 6,000 in Buffalo, where it maintains substantial banking, support and back-office operations, but its holding company, HSBC USA, is based in New York City.

Irene M. Dorner new HSBC USA President and CEO

HSBC Bank USA has named a new president and CEO out of its Malaysian affiliate, to take the helm of the Delaware-based bank in January. Irene M. Dorner, currently the deputy chairwoman and CEO of HSBC Bank Malaysia Bhd, will take over the U.S. bank’s top job from Paul J. Lawrence, who is returning to London as Group head of audit for parent HSBC Holdings Plc.

HSBC Green Initiative falls flat when 32 Facilities violate EPA

Yesterday we wrote about HSBC violations of the Americans With Disabilities Act. Today we present HSBC violations of the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and other EPA violations. At least thirty-two facilities were in violation.
