BC in Oklahoma said: “I purchased a camera back in August of 2008 and signed up for a Best Buy card. I did purchase an insurance for this camera and was happy I did cause I dropped it and had to send it back for repairs. I had noticed a couple of times the debt cancellation fee on my statements and that they were never the same. Today I finally called them to have this charge explained to me cause I didn’t think it had anything to do with my finance charge and it was always higher than than that charge. I got the run around first with the 800 numbers and was put on hold only to get disconnected six times.

When I finally did get ahold of someone they explained it as an insurance for my card and due to the amount on my card it was applied. I never signed up for it and I asked what was the date this was added to my account and she said since August of 2008. I stated once again that I did not sign up for this and she said I had done so at the time I filled out the application. I know I would have never checked a little box for such a thing and I told her I would need them to send me a copy of my application to prove that to me. She told me sometimes they keep a copy of the application on file in the computer system and she would look it up and put me on hold.

When she came back she said that I should be getting a letter in 7 to 10 buisness days stating that all charges should be credited back to my account due to the fact that I never signed that box for it. I can’t believe that someone just charged me six months of services that I never signed up for in the first place. I can’t believe it took me six months to question my bill, from now on I will be aware of what it is I am being charged for. And good luck to those who are getting no answers.”
