SM in Tennessee said: “I purchased a bedroom suite in May 2005 with a 60 month interest free promotion. When they delivered my order, it was the wrong size bed, wrong rails for the bed, and the mirror did not have all parts, then it took two weeks to get the remainder, it has now been three years and I have paid my account in full, and now they are saying that my promotion was for 12 months, then 31 months, even though on my statement that i paid in full it said january 2009, still early but not the promotion time i signed up for.

HSBC said that i would have to contact the store and get something in writing that i had 60 month interest free promotion, which i did, guess what, after 3 years they shread their paperwork, how convenient. i also mailed them a letter asking that they remove the 2500.00 in finance charges from my account, no response, i have now sent certified letter, hopefully this will reach the correct person.

To resolve my issue, they need to remove the interest since the account has been paid in full early, when i sent the check it was for the full amount and the check was marked paid in full. I wish that I had kept the original statement that probably shows the 60 month promotion but as time goes by apparently they change it and you do not have the original statements. but i do have the statement that shows January 2009 and since I paid it off in 2008 they need to remove these charges.”
