MW in Florida said: “I recently divorced my husband and as part of the agreement I am keeping the home. He had let it go in foreclosure and I paid that to get it out of foreclosure. I have worked very hard to keep up with bills. I contacted HSBC re. the second mortgage. NOBODY can find the information in their system re. my account so I can make payments. They will not even send me a statement, they will only send it to the party that let the house go in foreclosure even when the court gave me the house and the note.
I called HSBC they told me I needed to pay a little over $500.00 so I did. They took the money off the account. Then I get this phone call from their collections that the account was ‘charged off’ and that I owe over $3,000. Let me say it was paid, I gave them a check on the phone. The money was never tranferred because “the wrong department” accepted payment. I am still getting phone calls from their collections. I am still calling them back and NOBODY seems to know where am I supposed to send payment. Meanwhile my house is again at risk of foreclosure or something if they do not give me an answer. I don’t know what else to do.”
