This is to HSBC:
May 7, 2008 (almost a year after I closed my account with you, I suddenly receive a bill…)
Customer Service:
I paid my credit card in full last July. I sent you two cancellation letters and one cancellation email. I also wrote “Please close my account” on the check that you endorsed. Now you are Charging me:
$66.00 for what?
30.00 Late Payment Charges (explain this one please – how can one occur a late charge if there is no charge to begin with?)
35.00 previous balance (PLEASE EXPLAIN THAT TO ME)
41.21 purchases – you do not even provide a date of the purchase or a vendor/merchant/location. What did I buy and where? (Please send supporting documents). If you ruin my credit with your illegal activities, I am considering doing the legwork for a class action suit because I have a feeling that I am not the only victim here.
Just a few months ago a sent a 2nd request to close my account since you had send me solicitations, geared towards cardholders and not former cardholders, in the mail. In addition I sent you an email requesting you to close my account.
What game are you playing there please? I would like to have documents on all my recently occurred charges. I would like these sent to may address in XXXXX, which you obviously have. I have not used this card in almost a year and now you are trying to collect.
I demand an immediate resolution to this or I will resort to legal solution.
On top of this why didn’t I get a bill when the first charges occured. You only send bills when you have additional charges accumulated? Don’t make enough money taking the honest and fair route?
Your response is expected within 7 working days.
I made every attempt to call your number in Oregon to reach a rep but after entering my credit card number, ZIP code and homephone number, I still did not get a rep on the phone.
You people are a very poor representation of not only the businessworld but the entire United States.
As I am googling ORCHARD Bank, I noticed that you have made quite a name for yourself and not in a good way. Looks like ripped of quite a few people.
(My feeling here is that since Orchard initially provides secured credit cards for people with bad credit, they probably assume that their customers for former customers rather pay for “fraudulent” charges than risk a bad mark on their credit. This bankcard company makes me sick. And no, I will not pay. Class action suit anybody?”
