LG in texas said: “Like the complaint from West Virginia, we received a bad credit loan from HSBC in 2007. Our objective was to rebuild our credit. The car was also a necessary item for school and work. We eventually had a cash snag and I called HSBC before the month end and was told that I qualified for a defered payment, which I could request right over the phone. Happily, I made the request. I was told to call back in three days to confirm it’s approval. I called back four days later and was informed that the approval was not shown on the system yet. Then told to call back in about a week.

A week later I called back and was told that I needed to submit a Deferment Request Form, with signatures to officially make the request. Either online or mailed forms to me. I asked for the forms but also went online to attempt to request it faster. By now, twenty days have past and they are compounding late fees. Incidently, the HSBC website wouldn’t let me register in their system to request the deferment. After receiving the forms, we signed them and faxed them to the phone number shown on the forms. This was now the 20th of the next month.

Collections called me three days later and I go through my whole story and asked to speak to a supervisor. Stating my story once again, the super asked me to refax the forms again because it wasn’t shown to be received. This was on the (24th) as I faxed the forms the second time. I made my next month’s payment on-time and waited for approval of the deferment for last month’s payment still. One week later, another collections call said I was still one payment behind with an additional $147.00 late fee tacked on. After requesting to speak to a manager, I went through my whole senario again. The manager asked me to detail everything in a letter and fax it plus the signed forms again. This time I asked to send them directly to her if she didn’t mind. Which I did within the next hour. Needless to say, I’m still getting collection calls from HSBC, fees still mounting and agents acting like this is the first they’ve heard of my case.”
