HSBC plans to further expand its operations in Viet Nam to meet demand for the country’s impressive economic growth, said Chairman of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd. Vincent Cheng.
He made the comments on Wednesday in Ha Noi at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, saying that his first visit to Viet Nam was aimed at discussing the economic environment and business prospects in the country.
“This year HSBC will celebrate 135 years of operating in Sai Gon, now HCM City. We expect to continue our momentum in the country by targeting small and medium local enterprises,” Cheng said.
