This is contributed input. Household Watch appreciates this valuable information:

An attorney friend of mine states that if you send any type of letter to HRS, you should also send a copy of the letter by both fax and certified mail to William F. Aldinger, Chairman & CEO; David A. Schoen, President & Chief Operating Officer; and Colin P. Kelly, Executive Vice President – Administration.

Also send a copy of any letter to the appropriate corporate officer of the division you are dealing with such as Sandra L. Derickson, Groups Executive – Retail Services, Refund Lending and Insurance Services; Thomas M. Detlich, Group Executive – Consumer Lending; Ken M. Harvey, Group Executive – Chief Information Officer; Siddharth N (Bobby) Mehta, Group Executive – Credit Card Services, Auto Finance, and Canada; Colin P. Kelly, Executive Vice President – Administration.

Finally, send a copy of any letter you write to one of the most important persons at Household Kenneth H. Robin, Executive Vice President – General Counsel and Corporate Secretary (this is the corporation’s lawyer).

Send the above executives a copy of any of your letters to them at 2700 Sanders Road, Prospect Heights, Illinois 60070. Corporate Office telephone number is 847-564-5000; the executive fax number is 847-205-7452.

Follow up your fax with a call to the appropriate executive’s assistant to confirm receipt of your letter. Tell the operator that you must confirm the fax receipt. Tell the assistant that it won’t do any good to deny the receipt of the fax that the letter is also being sent by certified mail. Tape the telephone conversation, because somewhere in you letter you are informing Household that you will be recording their conversations from now on.

By sending the letters to the Household honchos, they can’t say they were unaware of their employees abusive tactics. This is how corporations get around the FTC and the state AG’s, by claiming their lack of knowledge of the abuse.
