Warning about Cobra coverage as HSBC ex-employee group forms
We received this by email today. This is not one of our initiatives – we are just reporting it. Household – HSBC Watch is not affiliated with this new initiative by former HSBC, HFC, or Beneficial Finance employees. Here is the report:
“Thank you for your reporting about all of the illegal tactics used by HSBC. They use the exact same tactics on current and ex workers.
I want to warn ex-employees about COBRA COVERAGE. Every American has the right to get their health insurance continued if fired. WE ARE GUARANTEED NOT TO LOSE HEALTH INSURANCE – and can continue on the plan you had selected B4 for an additional 18 months.
Under many of the people I have talked to about “our” severance plans. HSBC said they would buy the first 3 months of coverage. It is in writing.
THEY HAVE NOT PAID THE COBRA! YOU could LOSE health insurance.
If you got fired 12-31-07, you MUST ELECT continued coverage within 60 days.

The Non-disclosure agreement was predicated on the fact that severance would be paid along with 3 months COBRA! The Non-disclosure paper will not be valid because HSBC did not perform under their part of the agreement.
The attorneys we have been in contact with are just waiting for HSBC to NOT PAY and have people lose coverage. The Non-disclosure does not apply – HSBC violated contracts with their former employees.
Several of us are ready to form a NATIONAL EMPLOYEE WATCHDOG SITE.
HSBC does not want their fired good workers find out about the NATIONAL EMPLOYEE violations or the CLASS ACTION SUITS NOW IN CURRENT PROGRESS. There are many!
